Rich, creamy Gorgonzola and mozzarella topped with fresh tomato slices, fresh basil and cracked black pepper – simple and fresh for summer.

Ingredients

  • 1 Prepared Pizza Dough
  • 1/2 16-oz. Package of Sliced Fresh Mozzarella, torn into pieces (or 1 cup shredded low moisture mozzarella)
  • Gorgonzola, or Crumbled Blue Cheese
  • 1 large Ripe Tomato (Beefsteak or an heirloom variety), sliced into 1/8 to 1/4-inch thick rounds
  • Fresh Basil Leaves
  • Cracked Black Pepper

Instructions

1

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

2

On a floured pizza peel, dust the dough with flour and create a crust around the perimeter of the dough and flatten down the center.

3

Stretch it out on the backs of your hands, left hand over right hand, until the dough is roughly 12-inches around.

4

Add more flour evenly on the peel and lay the dough on the peel.

5

Evenly scatter the mozzarella on the dough, then the Gorgonzola.

6

Bake the pizza until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly, about 15 minutes.

7

When the pizza comes out of the oven, let the pie sit for 2-4 minutes. Then place the tomato slices evenly on the pizza.

8

Top with fresh basil leaves and fresh cracked pepper.
