Hello and welcome to Pizza and a Movie! Did you catch Chef Regina’s Pepper Marinade with Shrimp earlier this week? I am not sure if Chef Regina has tried this yet , but her pepper marinade is amazing on a pizza. Today’s pizza incorporates leftover shrimp and marinade; but the marinade is so easy to make that making it special for a pizza is no big deal. And if you’re making the marinade especially for a pizza, consider adding cooked chicken instead of shrimp…honestly, the pepper marinade is so good, I would just keep it simple and make a four cheese pizza with the marinade drizzled on top. Lot’s of ways to make this your own; let’s get to this Pepper Shrimp Pizza.
Since I am using leftover cooked shrimp, I don’t want to cook the shrimp again, or it will get tough. So the chopped shrimp is a topping we will add when the pie comes out of the oven. Along with a sprinkling of fresh basil. Going into the oven, we have a mozzarella base, with diced red bell pepper, sliced onion and a drizzle of the pepper marinade.
Preheat the oven with a pizza stone or steel to 425 degrees F. Roll spin or stretch your dough to about 12-inches round on a lightly floured pizza peel.
Start with the grated mozzarella. Or, if you’re using the super soft, low moisture Galbani Mozzarella (like I am), just pull the block into thin strips, like string cheese. Top the cheese with diced red bell pepper and onion slices. Dollop the pepper marinade evenly around the pizza. We are ready for the oven!
Bake the Pepper Shrimp Pizza
Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the crust is puffed and golden and the cheese is melted. While the pizza is baking, roughly chop up the cooked shrimp in whatever marinade is left over.

When the pizza comes out, drizzle olive oil over the crust. Then, top the pie with the chopped shrimp and whatever marinade is left in the bowl. Evenly spread the chopped shrimp and then top with minced fresh basil leaves.
This is a great preparation of Chef Regina’s Pepper Marinade with Shrimp; as I mentioned at the top, this pizza is perfect for the leftovers, should you have any. But it’s also super simple to make the pepper marinade especially for a pizza. For this pizza, the peppery marinade goes so well with the sweet shrimp; the diced red bell pepper also adds a little sweetness. The onion plays up the peppery flavors and the mozzarella adds richness. I hope you give this one a try!
Movie Night: Sharper
We have our Pepper Shrimp Pizza ready, so let’s get to the movie! Sharper is a new movie on Apple TV starring Julianne Moore and John Lithgow. If you’re a fan of neo-noir, this movie is for you! Sharper is very cleverly written, acted and shot. It’s told in a way that reveals each main character in their own story or backstory and we slowly see how they all weave together. With plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat, this movie is a great ride.
Without revealing anything to you, I recommend you add this movie to the top of your watchlist. Sharper is available to watch with a subscription to Apple TV.
Thank you so much for joining me to day for Pizza and a Movie! I do hope you make Chef Regina’s Pepper Marinade and give this pizza, or some variation of it a try! Have a great weekend, take care and be well. xo Kelly

Pepper Shrimp Pizza
Chef Regina's Pepper Marinade finds its way to a pizza! Whether you go with shrimp, chicken or just cheese, it's an amazing pizza topping.
Ingredients
- 1 Prepared Pizza Dough
- 8 oz. Grated Low Moisture Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 Red Bell Pepper, diced
- 1/4-1/2 White Onion, thinly sliced
- Chef Regina's Pepper Marinade (with, or without shrimp) See links in the body of the post for the simple recipe.
- Minced Fresh Basil Leaves
- Olive Oil, for drizzling on crust (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven with a pizza stone or steel to 425 degrees F. Roll spin or stretch your dough to about 12-inches round on a lightly floured pizza peel.
Start with the grated mozzarella, spread evenly on top of the dough.
Top the cheese with diced red bell pepper and onion slices. Dollop the pepper marinade evenly around the pizza. We are ready for the oven.
Notes
If you're using only the marinade, sans shrimp or other protein, dollop on the marinade before the pizza goes into the oven, top with fresh basil when it comes out of the oven. If you're using a cooked protein other than shrimp, like chicken, add it before the pizza goes into the oven. Then top with the fresh basil when the pizza comes out of the oven.

March 3, 2023 at 1:03 pmHonestly, I think you could put that shrimp and marinade on an old boot, and it would still be good. I can’t think of anything. It wouldn’t be good on, but pizza has to be the best. I love it that you come up with something different every week, s the rest of us can age something different every week. You have never steered me wrong on a movie, so I will certainly give this one a try. Noir s right up my alley, so I will enjoy this and the pizza. I did make extra so I would have leftovers. Happy Fearless Friday to Kelly, Alex, Terry and the three horsemen of the apocryphal. That word is a stretch and a bad pun, but it’s one of my favorites, so I threw it in there. To all the ladies out there, Happy Hinamatsuri, or Happy Girl’s Day. ( I wonder when boy’s day is.). It’s a fun little holiday, so enjoy it, and have a great weekend!

March 4, 2023 at 7:54 amHi Mari, I thought this movie would strike your fancy. How fun that you know about Hinamasturi! Boy’s day, or Tango no Sekku is on May 5. Did you know that until recent times in Japan, Valentine’s day is for the men; women give the men in their lives (even bosses and other non-romantic relationships) gifts, specifically chocolates. Then one month later, March 14 is known as White Day, when the men reciprocate with gifts roughly 2-3 times the cost of the chocolates they received.
Apparently in the last several years things have changed, especially giving chocolates for bosses and co-workers; known as giri-choco, the obligatory chocolates and the reciprocated gifts on White Day have created uncomfortable workplace dynamics. To avoid undo pressure and harassment situations, many companies have banned the practice. Interesting…anyway, thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend! xo Kelly
