Hello and welcome! Today’s Top 5 Pizzas of 2022 wraps up our trip through 2022 recipes, highlighting the top 5 recipes in a few categories: The Top 5 Sunday Supper Recipes, The Top 5 Dessert Recipes and The Top 5 Recipes. The top two on this list of top 5 pizzas feature a savory sweet combination that I just love on a pizza – and apparently so do you! This leaves me wondering though, why pineapple on pizza is still so divisive. I have resigned myself to never getting a solid answer on that one, but safe to say, these Top 5 Pizzas of 2022 are excellent and if you haven’t made one or all of them – get to it!

The Honey Bear Pizza

I am so excited to share this pizza recipe with you! Creamy white sauce, spicy Italian sausage, smoked and regular mozzarella, thin red onion slices and finished with a good drizzle of honey. Oh my goodness, this one is the new favorite in town. And by “town”, I mean my house. I was surprised when Alex said this is the best one yet because he normally doesn’t like sweet and savory in one bite. Hot Sausage Feta Honey Pizza

Today’s spicy and sweet pizza is a good match for Netflix’s Television series, Grace and Frankie. We have hot Italian sausage, mozzarella and feta, topped with Mike’s Hot Honey after the bake. A simple pizza with amazing spicy sweet flavors. This is an easy one, so let’s get right to it!

Roasted Garlic Pesto Pizza

This week’s pizza is very simple, both in preparation and the end result. It’s not loaded with toppings – just a simple pesto and cheese pizza. The special part is the pesto, we are making fresh pesto with roasted garlic. Roasted garlic pesto has a deep garlic flavor, without the potent fresh garlic bite. We will add a couple garnish toppings, that are optional: we have toasted panko breadcrumbs and chili crunch. Let’s get right to it! Roasted Garlic Pesto Pizza.

Big Little Mac Pizza

This week’s pizza is inspired by a pizzeria I have never been to. Maker Pizza is a Toronto-based pizzeria. I became aware of Maker Pizza through Matty Matheson who partnered in creating the pizzeria with owner, Shlomo Buchler. Anyway – their pizzas are mesmerizingly beautiful and inventive. And because I don’t live in Toronto to try it myself, I decided to recreate one of their famous pizzas, The Mac. As you might imagine, this is basically the pizza version of a certain famous American hamburger. Are you ready for this? Let’s do it!

Four Cheese Pizza

Sometimes you can’t beat a cheese pizza, especially when it is anything but plain. Today we have a four cheese pizza – or Quattro Formaggi. A rich and savory blend of Mozzarella, Fontina, Gruyere and Blue Cheese. I have swapped the traditional Parmesan for Gruyere, and I have to say, it’s very, very good! Today’s movie, Nomadland; is not unlike the quattro formaggi, it takes what might seem simple and exposes complex layers.
